Extraite de la mythique Marque Jaune, cette poursuite entre un taxi réquisitionné par Mortimer et le véhicule du sulfureux Guinea Pig est un exemple de composition. Le dessin jacobsien explose dans les dernières cases, théâtrales et emphatiques. Pour le reste, il joue surtout de manière très efficace sur des cases en miroir. La deuxième moitié de la planche est d’une intelligence rare dans la composition. Tout est fait pour que ces deux tacots ressemblent à des bolides furieux, comme s’ils étaient possédés. Cerise sur le gâteau, c’est de cette poursuite que viendra la résolution de l’histoire, de nombreuses pages plus tard…

Condition

Minuscule angle en bas à gauche déchiré mais très éloigné du dessin. Sinon très bon état.

Catalogue Note

Taken from the mythical album La Marque Jaune, this chase between a taxi requisitioned by Mortimer and the car of the fiendish Guinea Pig is a masterpiece of composition. Jacobs' drawing explodes in the final theatrical and bombastic panels. For the rest, he mostly plays very effectively with mirroring the panels. The second half of the page shows a rare intelligence in its composition. Everything is done so that these two classic vehicles turn into furious, almost possessed racing cars. The icing on the cake is that this pursuit leads to the resolution of the story, many pages later...
