Dans ce hors-série du début des années soixante, Craenhals joue avec les aplats de noir et les lignes blanches comme les maîtres de l’âge d’or, Hubinon ou Paape. Son dessin est dense, bourré de matière et de vitalité. Il utilise en une page à peu près toutes les valeurs de plans de la grammaire graphique, y compris, au centre, deux contre-plongées et une plongée qui se suivent. L’image avec les deux oiseaux en amorce est très hitchcockienne. Elle fait l’économie d’un à-pic vertigineux sous le personnage pour mieux cueillir le lecteur au plan suivant.

In this special issue from the early sixties, Craenhals plays with the flat areas of black and the white lines as Hubinon and Paape, the masters of the Golden Age, used to do. His drawing is dense, brimming with physicality and vitality. In a single page he uses almost all of the viewpoints in the graphic grammar of the medium, including in the centre two high-angle shots followed by a low-angle shot. The panel with the two birds is very Hitchcockian. It succinctly evokes a vertiginous precipice beneath the character to propel the reader to the next image.
