Condition

The off-centre back seam below the waist closure needs re-stitching 11cm and there is a 2.5cm horizontal tear at one edge. The upper bust darts have been altered – evidence of earlier stitch lines. Slight wear and to closure edge where the waist hook and eye have pulled. One wire has become detached from the bodice. Alix Grès s'associe à son amie Juliette Barton et ouvre la maison de couture "Alix Barton" au 8, rue de Miromesnil entre 1933 et 1934.
Le seul autre modèle connu griffé "Alix Barton" est conservé au musée Boijmans Van Beuningen à Rotterdam.
