Good condition overall. Minor marks, scratches and small chips consistent with age and use within the culture. Loss of material to the front on the magical charge, as visible in the catalogue.

Catalogue Note

Ce rare charme nkisi associe la gestuelle des statues bilongo - dont les attributs (calebasse et couteau) identifient le personnage à un chasseur – et une saisissante accumulation de charges magiques (dont une tête de lézard) agrégées par une épaisse gangue croûteuse. L’iconographie et les éléments constitutifs de la charge le désignent selon toute vraisemblance comme un nkisi servant pour le culte thérapeutique « du Pungu polyvalent destiné à protéger les chasseur » (Marc Felix, Art & Kongos, 1995, p. 196).
