Composed of brightly colored blue, red, gold and brown cotton patches, with figures of various children’s nursery rhyme characters including, Jack and Jill (who are drawing their pail of water); Gulliver securely fastened, children climbing on his legs and arms; Jack Sprat and his rotund wife with dress sewn in layers of fabric and batting;  at the top the appliqued legend, Christmas 1881
