Catalogue Note
It is interesting to note that the present cabinet bears very high quality standard of cabinetry, bronze casting and gilding. The central mount designed with two mermaids holding aloft a fountain beneath floral swag is very similar to a mount found on one of François Linke creation, index number 421. A variante of this mount was exhibited by Christofle at the 1878 Exposition universelle in Paris, and is engraved in the Illustrated Catalogue Paris International Exhibition, p. 137.
