Condition

The canvas has been relined. There is a pattern of hairline craquelure overall. Under ultra-violet light the old varnish layers fluoresce evenly, and some signs of retouching are visible notably along the upper framing edge, strokes and scattered small areas near the right framing edge, and some more minor scattered spots including a number of tiny spots in the figure's face. This work is in good overall condition. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
