Catalogue Note

The present sculpture is a rare mythological subject for Drouot, as he tended to create works focussing on nature, with a particular interest in personifications of the four seasons. Drouot is known for his beautiful integration of bronze and marble, however the present sculpture showcases his elaborate marble carving skills; particularly in the detailed wings of the eagle and the drapery which clings to the goddess’s youthful figure.
