the cavetto painted with members of the Imperial army, the green border with cislĂ©e gilt State coats-of-arms alternating with military trophies comprising an officer's regimental shako with crossed saber and rifle set against a laurel branch, the reverse inscribed in Russian 'The First Infantry Corp / Third Division / A Senior Officer of the Old Germanland Infantry Regiment / A Sublieutenant of the New Germanland Infantry Regiment / Privates of the Jaeger Regiment A Mastersergeant of Duke Kutuzov-Smolenskii / A Musician of the Greater Jaeger Regiment / 1840 / N. Yakovlev', with blue underglaze Imperial cypher of Nicholas I

Condition

Very good condition. A few small areas of paint loss to the edges of the cavetto scene, some of which are visible in the printed catalogue illustration. Very light scratches to the gilding.
