The complete portfolio, comprising 20 pochoirs printed in colours, after collages and cut paper designs, with facsimile text by the artist, 1947, signed in pencil on the justification, numbered 156, from the edition of 250, published by Tériade éditeur, Paris, loose (as issued), on Arches wove paper, contained in the original paper wrappers and grey paper covered boards, and a contemporary slipcase

The full sheets, with fresh colours, in good condition apart from occasional slight rubbing and infrequent surface scuffs, minor fox marks in the unprinted areas of the illustrations and areas of pale scattered fox marks on the versos (as detailed below), off printing on versos and adjacent text pages. The wrappers slightly toned overall, a vertical crease along the spine and two skillfully repaired splits along folds at top and at bottom. The boards and slipcase with infrequent minor surface scuffs or soiling, some stray crayon. The slipcase is contemporary. LE CLOWN- a linear surface scuff in the black at right; LE CIRQUE- sheet very slightly toned, lefthand page verso with scattered pale foxing, a few pale fox marks in margins recto, a handling crease at sheet edge; M. LOYAL- a fox mark verso shows through to recto in the unprinted silhouette; LE CHAUCHEMAR- sheet very slightly toned, lefthand page with scattered fox marks along upper sheet edge, righthand a fox mark in yellow visible recto and verso, a handling crease at lower right; LE CHEVAL- sheet very slightly toned, scattered fox marks towards edges of lefthand page top and righthand page bottom; LE LOUP- scattered pale fox marks in unprinted areas of sheet are mainly visible verso, a few surface scuffs toward edges of plate; LE COEUR- righthand page with very pale scattered foxing in unprinted areas recto and verso, a handling crease at lower edge; ICARE- infrequent pale fox marks in text and along left margin of illustration; FORMES- very pale fox marks lefthand page verso and unprinted edges recto, a fox mark in the image at centre of lower left, an infrequent surface scuff, a handling crease at right; L'ENTERREMENT- sheet slightly toned, an occasional pale fox mark in the unprinted lower margin and verso; LES CODOMAS- lefthand page verso with an irregular-shaped stain at right edge, occasional pale fox marks on the verso; LA NAGEUSE- pale fox marks in the lower portion of lefthand page verso, righthand recto with three fox marks at upper sheet edge; LE COW-BOY- lefthand page verso with scattered pale fox marks, occasional surface scuffs; LA LANCEUR- sheet very slightly toned, lefthand verso with an area of fox marks towards top, an infrequent pale fox mark recto; LE DESTIN- two surface scuffs in upper portion of left, righthand page verso with an area of scattered fox marks at centre; LE LAGON- righthand page with occasional fox marks along unprinted sheet edge recto and at verso; handling creases along the lower sheet edge at right; LE LAGON- sheet very slightly toned, righthand page with 4-5 fox marks at sheet edges recto, and at verso; LE LAGON- lefthand page verso with an area of scattered fox marks towards top, minor surface scuffs in black at upper left; TABOGAN- occasional tiny fox marks in unprinted areas of sheet.
