Condition

This early contact print, on double-weight paper with a slight texture and surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. The black margin edges are lightly rubbed and the corners are bumped. There are 2 small creases along the upper-right edge of the print. Along the left margin edge are 2 small clamp impressions. The reverse of the print is appropriately age-darkened at the left and top edges. The 'Changing New York' caption stamp on the reverse is annotated in ink with the following information: Title: 'Drug Store: Whelan's' Place: '44th Street and Eighth Avenue, Manhattan' Date: 'February 7, 1936' Neg. # '67' Code: 'III.C.3'
