Description

  • Ezra Stoller
  • GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM
  • gelatin silver print
the photographer's 'Ezra Stoller Associates, Rye, N. Y.' credit/copyright/studio stamp, with number '98 U 5' and annotation in ink, on the reverse, framed, 1959

Condition

This early print, on double-weight paper with a slight surface sheen, is in generally very good condition. There is edge wear, with a crease in the upper left margin. When examined in raking light, the following are visible: 2 crescent-shaped handling creases that do not break the emulsion in the center and right of the image; and a soft impression in the lower right quadrant. On the reverse, in addition to the photographer's studio stamp with number '98 U 5,' '24FPS' has been written in red ink. According to the photographer's daughter, Erica Stoller, this print dates to 1959, as indicated by the letter U in the number on his studio stamp on the reverse of this print.
