Private Collection, New York (purchased at the above sale)

Condition

The panel is cradled with two horizontal bars on the reverse and is flat, even, and ensuring a stable support. Under ultraviolet light the varnish layers fluoresce quite opaquely obscuring a clear reading of the surface, however the only notable visible retouchings are a circa 6 by 2cm area in the lower part of the red wall near the centre, some thin strokes in the right of the floor, and addressing frame rubbing at the extreme edges. There is a very thin scratch in the floor in the lower left of the composition. This painting is in good overall condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative, faded gilt frame.
