Overall the condition of the wood is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. Part of the priest's two proper right forefingers are lost. Joseph probably once held an attribute in his proper left hand and the Priest may have had a brooch on his chest. There is wear to the original polychromy throughout. There is minor stable splitting to the wood consistent with the material, in particular to Joseph's body. There are some small losses to the terrasse at the front. There are a few smaller losses including to the proper left side of the priest's hood and proper left shoulder. The priest's hat is carved separately and may be reattached. There are two small holes at the back.
