Condition

The canvas has been recently relined, cleaned and restored. The paint surface is clean and stable and in fair overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals heavy retouching in the oval space behind the ladies head and in the cartouche. There is also a degree of sensitively executed, more minor retouchings in the face, hair and flesh tones of the lady.
