Beautiful and rare model in good condition.
Lavish chasing; as expected, gilding slightly rubbed on the more exposed areas.
Dial in good condition. Movement is complete and looks as though it would run. No pendulum.

Catalogue Note
Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain (1719-1791) fut enregistré en 1748 comme maître fondeur en terre et en sable. En 1765, il fut élu juré de la corporation des bronziers.
Un modèle identique avec un mouvement de J-B du Tertre est conservé dans le palais royal Lazienki à Varsovie. Un autre avec un mouvement de Gallois est illustré dans P. Kjellberg, Encyclopédie de la Pendule Française, Paris, 1997, p.125.
