Description

Composed of millegrain-set marquise-shaped and circular-cut diamonds, the front with garland and ribbon designs supporting seven oval and button shaped natural pearls measuring from approximately 11.40 x 11.50 x 9.90mm to 15.10 x 15.15 x 13.70mm, length approximately 360mm, case stamped Cartier, the exterior of the case with monogram and coronet for Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 79503, stating that the seven pearls were found to be natural, saltwater, with no indications of artificial colour modification, conclusions as far as the setting permits; additionally accompanied by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory report no. 10913, stating that the seven pearls were found to be natural, saltwater. Four natural pearls of white to slightly cream body colour, partly with rosé and green overtones; three natural pearls of grey body colour with rosé and green overtones; all with very good skin and luster; for shapes, measurements and further details on each pearl, please refer to the SSEF report. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 32.00 - 35.00 carats, on average H - J colour, VS - SI clarity (a few I), as gauged and graded in the mounting, one marquise-shaped diamond chipped. Signs of normal wear to the metal. Clasp secure; safety catch. In very good condition. Gross weight approximately 65 grams. Fitted case for lots 494, 495 and 496, stamped Cartier London 175 New Bond St Paris 13 Rue de la Paix New York 658 5th Avenue, the exterior of the case with monogram and coronet for Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe.
