The spiral-shaped clip-brooch and button-shaped earclips set with 19 cabochon emeralds, further decorated with gold studs, all pieces signed Fred Leighton, brooch numbered 14508, earclips numbered 14650.

Condition

Both pieces in good condition, with some light wear to the gold on the reverse, not visible when worn. BROOCH: The shell has a silvery gray body color, with orangy brown bands, displaying a nice orient when moved, with some visible cracking to the skin. The emeralds are a medium to medium-deep bluish green, moderately to heavily included but translucent, with several bearing surface-reaching inclusions. Surprisingly light when worn. EARCLIPS: The brown and white shell is intact, with one earclip showing a minor crack, not apparent when worn. The emeralds are a medium-light bluish green, moderately to heavily included, many bearing surface-reaching fractures. With a workshop mark on the reverse.
