Of basketweave design, the clasp set with round diamonds weighing approximately 1.65 carats, supported by a ropetwist chain, measuring approximately 7¾ by 4 by 1¾ inches, gross weight approximately 460 dwts, the interior fitted with a mirror, chain length 38½.

Condition

In good to fair condition. Visible denting to the interior bottom corners of the purse on both left and right sides. Other very minor indentations are to be expected with age and use. The purse closure opens up and out, and is very strong, and slightly difficult at times to open. Shoulder chain appears to have been added at a later date, and tests as 14 karat gold. The diamonds are approximately I-J color, and SI clarity. Sold at Sotheby's sale N01763, Lot 260.
