Condition

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the pearls are of extreme baroque-shape, white colour with moderate to strong rosè overtone, irregular surface with very good lustre. One pearl close to the middle has tiny natural openings shown in the front. There are natural chips on two pearls, shown mainly on the back. Diamonds are about H to I colours, VS to SI clarity. Condition: Karat white gold mount, with maker's mark and gold mark, circa 2000. Signs of wear and surface scratches to the metal, overall in good condition.

About the Designer:

Geoffrey Rowlandson was born in the year 1931 into a family of designers of both fashion and jewellery. He started the Rowlandson company to concentrate on hand-made classic jewellery, but twenty years ago began to compile the Rowlandsons Collection to include innovative and unique works of art within jewellery. His talents were recognised by the Worshipful Company of Goldsmith, winning him ‘Jewellery Designer of the Year’ twice, 1998-9 and 2002-3, as well as numerous commended awards including ‘Me and My Shadow’ in 2002 and ‘The Royal Christening’ in 2014. The Victoria & Albert Museum also recognised his unique take on jewellery by displaying his ‘Fire and Ice’ Tiara in 2002. In their Pearl Exhibition in 2013, three of his pieces including ‘Grand Jeté’ were again selected. He continues to create these conversational pieces with amazing originality, attention to detail, and love of his craft.
