Ruby and diamond necklace, Van Cleef & Arpels, 1969

The front composed of a graduated series of clusters, each set with a cabochon ruby and brilliant-cut diamonds, the reverse similarly set, length approximately 455mm, signed V.C.A., numbered.

Accompanied by GIA report no. 2145013508, stating that the central ruby weighing 19.58 carats, measuring 17.45 x 12.30 x 8.75 mm, is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Accompanied by a Van Cleef & Arpels certificate of authenticity. Signed V.C.A., numbered N.Y. 39960. Rubies well matched in colour, with typical inclusions, some surface reaching, a few nicks and scratches, some rubies with cavities to the reverse. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 27.00 - 29.00 carats, on average G-H colour and VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mounting. Clasp secure, safety latch below. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 87 grams.
