Originally modelled by Johann Joachim Kändler in 1735 for the Japanese Palace in Dresden, a Meissen pair of guinea fowl, the prototype for the present pair, was in the Collection of Sir Gawaine and Lady Baillie, sold at Sotheby's London, May 1, 2013, lot.195.
