Condition

The canvas is not lined. There is a thick varnish through which the UV light cannot fully penetrate, however UV examination reveals some evidence of small lines and spots of retouching to the central part of the sky. There are some fine lines of craquelure in places. Otherwise this work is in overall good condition. Colours: fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though overall warmer in the original.
