Condition

The canvas is lined. There is a thick layer of varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, however there do not appear to be any signs of retouching visible under UV light. There is a small pinhole-sized raising of paint to the extreme upper left corner. There are some light framing marks along the extreme upper right edge and a few very fine lines of craquelure in places. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition and there is a rich impasto surface. Colours: fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though the sky is slightly bluer in the original.
