Catalogue Note

With a Greubel Forsey certificate, instruction manual, loupe and presentation box.

The Greubel Forsey Tourbillon 24 Secondes Contemporain ‘Royal Blue’ is the timepieces entirely developed to showcase the 24 second tourbillon by providing a three-dimensional vision in a circular case.  A transparent, synthetic sapphire tourbillon bridge offers a captivating and hypnotic impression of the regulator floating in mid-air and underlines just one of the highly creative elements found throughout the timepiece. The movement is constructed in titanium and the absolutely gorgeous royal blue finish of the plates and bridges bring the sensual experience of the admirer to another level.  The homogenous purity of the intense blue finish was achieved through a special oxidation process, the blue shimmers in an infinite range of hues according to the light giving the timepiece an unparalleled vivacity.

The round 43.50mm diameter case houses a movement comprising 267 components, 88 for the tourbillon cage alone which weighs 0.39 grams only. Two coaxial mainspring barrels in series provide an optimal power reserve of 72 hours. The hour and minute ring is in synthetic sapphire, reinforcing the three-dimensional aspect, while the small seconds sub-dial and power reserve indicator are in gold. The case band is decorated with two platinum plates, finely engraved with the philosophy of Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey.  Offered in a unique edition of 33 pieces, the present example is number 18.
