the cartouche printed with CARY / Pocket / GLOBE; / aggreeable / to the latest / DISCOVERIES / LONDON / pubd. by J&W Cary Strand Apr 1 1791; with its original fish-skin case lined with paper gores giving a list of latitudes of places not shown on the globe and a map of Caesar's time; the interior of the case printed with a cartouche A TABLE / OF / Latitudes & Longitudes / of Places not given / on this / GLOBE; the other half inscribed The WORLD as known in CAESAR'S Time / aggreeable to D'Auville; with modern plastic stand.

Condition

The globe in good condition the varnish is slightly yellowed and with some yellowing and losses to varnish about the South pole; the interior gores also in good condition with some yellowing to varnish and with some lifting; the case in good condition with some small age cracks and with slight warpage.
