Catalogue Note

It is often in the little sketches that the intimacy and personality of an artist can be felt - as it is in this charming, swiftly made watercolour of children, and a dog, enjoying the beach at Whitsand Bay in south east Cornwall. The pleasure of the scene is as evocative now as it was nearly a century ago.
