The rectangular bag embroidered with floral and quatrefoil motifs, set with polished and carved gemstones including citrines, amethysts, rubies, garnets and emeralds, opening to reveal two compartments and a mirror, measuring approximately 200 by 120 by 25mm, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered.

By family tradition this bag was originally a gift from Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain.

Condition

Signed Van Cleef & Arpels. Numbered 18458. Gemstones with typical inclusions visible to naked eye and under magnification. some surface reaching fissures, one emerald cracked. Embroidering with tarnish in places, some losses in places. Silk discoloured and signes of wear to edges from use, could benefit from a professional clean. Mirror with signs of silvering. Overall in good condition.
