Designed as an open work scalloped plaque decorated with oval rubies, circular-cut and rose diamonds, within a black enamel frame, suspending a fringe of natural pearl drops, later brooch pin.

Condition

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US; this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin is required before the import of rubies into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewellery department for further information. Accompanied by Gemmologie de Laboratoire Français report no. 196437, stating that the pearls were found to be natural. Pearls of baroque shape of varying shades, varying from dark grey to purplish grey, medium lustres, with some hairline cracks and pitting to the nacre. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 4.00-5.00 carats, of mixed colours and clarities, bright and lively. Rubies of medium purplish red colour and moderate saturation, typical inclusions visible to the naked eye with some surface reaching inclusions, abrasions to the facet edges. Chips and wear to black enamel. Scratches to metal consistent with age and wear. Secure pin fitting. In good condition.
