Condition

The paper has been attached to a supporting sheet with adhesive at the corners and in the centre. The supporting sheet is taped into the book mount with tabs at the upper corners. The sheet is slightly cockled, particularly at the lower left corner and there are several light creases towards the corners of the sheets. There is some damage to the upper right corn with two tears and a crease, not wholly visible in the present mount. There are brown stains, consistent with old adhesive residue, visible in each of the four corners and at the centre of the sheet. On close examination several horizontal scratches run across the cat's back. When viewed out of the mount, time staining to the paper is apparent. The graphite is strong and subject to the above the work appears to be in good condition. The drawing is presented in a book mount and a gilded wooden frame.
