Catalogue Note

The Union of Artists label on the reverse suggests that the offered work was exhibited in West Germany at some point. The rich traditions of Azeri national art play an important role in Togrul Narimanbekov’s paintings, which are defined by their vibrant colour, bold brushstrokes and impasto. In 1980 he was awarded the State Prize of the USSR for his artistic achievements.
