with a white marble top above a flap enclosing a mirrored compartment with drawers, pigeonholes and cupboards, with two cupboard doors below, ornamented with painted panels of figures, distressed

Condition

This secretaire is in need of conservation. There are losses to veneers and shrinking cracks throughout – on the sides, bottom doors and two cracks on the fall front. Losses to bronze key escutcheon. The body on later interior blocks on castors. Interior of upper section with marks and scratches consistent with age and use; losses to ivory, central niche with side mirror glass broken. Interior lower section with later fitted low sliding shelf.
