Condition

Bon état général Quelques fissures importantes sur le panneau, plus importante à l'extrémité droite de quelques centimètres de long ( entre 3 et 5 cm) sur quelques millimètres d'ouverture. Un enfoncement dans la partie du ciel à gauche. Quelques traces de salissures. Non décadré. Good overall condition A few hairline cracks on the panel, one more important on the right side (between 3 and 5 cm long). One dent in the left corner, in the sky. Some small traces of dirt. Condition report done framed.

Cette oeuvre, particulièrement grande pour ce sujet,  fut offerte par l'artiste à Gaston Suisse qui la conserva toute sa vie en témoignage de leur longue amitié. Elle a été acquise directement en 1995 auprès de la veuve de l'artiste, dans son appartement de la rue Tolbiac, Paris.

This study was given by the artist to his friend, Gaston Suisse, who kept it as a testament to their close friendship.  It was acquired from the widow of Gaston Suisse in 1995 from whom it was acquired directly in 1995 from her apartment on the rue Tolbiac, Paris.
