Condition
Tres bon état général
Un restoration sur la pointe de l'aile gauche d'eniron 1 x 0.5 cm presque invisible. Trace de salissure et quelques petits enfoncements. Quelques rayures à la base. L'ensemble d'usage.
Please note that this work is not a sculpture, but rather a baguier en poirier sculpté (a ring holder), as described in the updated online catalogue. This work was exhibited at the Société Nationale des Beaux Arts in 1893 and was identified as baguier en poirier sculpté.
Overall in very good condition. Some occasional scattered surface scratches and abrasions consistent with gentle handling. With surface soiling to the recessed contours of the design. With a very small area of restoration to the end terminal of the figures proper left wing measuring approximately I cm in length, only visible on close inspection. The underside of the base with two adjacent old drilled holes, 1/8 and ¼ inch in diameter and with remnants of two old paper labels. A very sensitively and intimately scaled work by the artist.
