  • A very-good group of two complete manufactured Monopoly game-sets, copyright 1933, published 1934 and 1935

The first, a "White Box" set, containing: 1 gameboard (20 1/4 x 19 7/8 in.; 514 x 505 mm) printed in original color palette, 1 set of rules printed directly on build-up platform dated 1934, 32 dyed-green wooden houses, 12 dyed-red wooden hotels, scrip money for play in denominations of $500, $100, $50, $20, $10, $5, $1, 16 Chance cards, 16 Community Chest cards, 28 solid-color Property Deed cards, wooden dice. In the original white pictorial cardboard box (11 x 21 in.; 280 x 534 mm), printed in red and black; box somewhat soiled with scuffs and splits at edges.

The second, a slightly later set, containing: 1 gameboard (19 1/4 x 19 1/4 in.; 490 x 490 mm) printed in modern palette with red and black printed label mounted on verso, one 4-page set of rules copyright 1935, 32 dyed-green wooden houses, 12 dyed-red wooden hotels, 7 cast-metal game pieces, scrip money for play in denominations of $500, $100, $50, $20, $10, $5, $1,16 Community Chest cards and 16 Chance cards enclosed in a green cardboard folding ring, 22 Property Deed cards printed in the familiar colors and black, 6 black-and-white railroad and utility deed cards, wooden dice. In the original cardboard box (7 5/8 x 6 3/8 in.; 194 x 162 mm), printed in red and black; box somewhat soiled, scuffed at extremities, gameboard with small edge scuffs on verso.
