  • 73cm. 28¾in. high
5-inch enamel dial signed Gavelle Lé A Paris, with concentric day of the week dial with symbol, bell striking movement with anchor escapement, later spring suspension and crutch, an arbor mounted on the backplate, driven by the count wheel, leading to a date ring monted within a painted sphere above a grey marble obelisk flanked by rams masks, the case in the form of a fountain flanked by bronze satyrs on a breakfront grey and white marble plinth inset with a putti plaque

Condition

Prospective purchasers should inspect personally. Dial has substantial damage and old repairs to both winding holes and centre, hour hand clipped. Movement appears to be complete but is very dirty and will require full service and overhaul, back cock, spring suspension and crutch changed. Obelisk has chips and is detached from the case, damage to enamel date ring, clock case is very dirty and one foot is detached, minor chips and old repairs to the marble, rear glass lacking. No pendulum, bell or winder.
