Les jarres Mangbetu à décor abstrait sont rares. Celles-ci se distinguent par la très belle élaboration des formes et des motifs géométriques dont l'engobe sombre accentue la modernité plastique, et par leur profonde patine d'usage. Voir Burssens (Mangbetu, Art de cour africain de collections privées belges, 1992, p. 74, n° 49 et 50) pour deux jarres comparables.
