Catalogue Note

The renewed relevance of Fontana's formulations consists evidently in a constructive openness to the utopian implication, in a tipically positive vision (with distant echoes of Futurism, and still more remotes ones of baroque spatial liberties), of the possibility of the transformation of material reality, through both the virtuality of a cosmic spatial mentality and the resource of a indomitable plastic inventiveness, rooted in his profound authenticity as a witness of his own time.
