Condition

A few retouches scattered over the surface. A few repaints are visible in the men's left foot and in the lower part of the woman's dress and in the background. Some restored scratches and wears are scattered over the surface. Other scratches visible under naked eye would need to be restored

Catalogue Note

Massimiliano Galleli collabore avec Cesare Maccari et travaille sur plusieurs décors à Rome. En 1886, il part à Paris puis s'installe à Nice. Il participe au décor du Casino de Monte Carlo: en 1903 il réalise Les fumeuses  pour le plafond de l’ancien fumoir du Casino, et en 1908 il exécute  la joie de l’eau  pour le hall d’entrée de l’ancien établissement thermal. Il exécute également le décor de la coupole du sporting Club de Monaco. Il rentre en Italie en 1924 mais reste très présent sur la côte d'Azur et ses compositions reflètent l'ambiance de la Riviera.
