Oblong folio (378 x 485mm.), 90 matt silver prints (from 110 x 155mm. to 278 x 365mm., or the reverse), including four panoramas (2 folding), mounted on thick card, publisher's red half morocco gilt, upper cover lettered and decorated in gilt, flat spine gilt, gilt edges, occasional slight stains or adhesions to a few images, some mounts becoming detached, binding rubbed and a little scuffed

This album records the visit of the Viceroy, Charles Hardinge, 1st Baron Hardinge of Penshurst (1858-1944), to Jodhpur in 1914. The album contains fine views and portraits, including Maharaja Sumer Singh, group portraits with the Viceroy, the palace, Mehrangarh fortress, a polo match, troops on parade, and the state train.
