  • marked A. Dubois in rectangle on underside of teapot, on base rim of coffee pot, on underside of tea caddy, twice on underside of waste bowl, and on handles of spoons, marked AD in oval twice on base rim of sugar bowl and twice on underside of creamer, salver and tongs apparently unmarked

comprising a galleried Teapot, Coffee Pot, Tea Caddy, galleried covered Sugar Bowl, Creamer with later cover, Waste Bowl, Salver, Sugar Tongs and four bird-back bowl Teaspoons, all with bright-cut engraved floral wreathes and a ribbon-tied pendant oval cartouche above crossed laurel branches, with contemporary monogram EMJ, square plinth bases raised on four ball feet, pineapple finials

Provenance

The monogram is that of Edward and Mary Ireland of Upton, Baltimore.

Condition

all with softening to engravings and monograms, rubbed more heavily on salver and tongs; creamer as noted regarding lid and with loose pin; sugar bowl with one slightly bent foot, otherwise good condition
