Condition

Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. (August 26, 2014): This painting is in beautiful condition. It is probably slightly dirty under a more recent varnish. The canvas is unlined and is slightly loose on its stretcher. The paint layer shows no cracking. There do not appear to be any retouches. Under ultraviolet light, it can be seen that the pink color applied in the right and left of the figure's lower legs shows strongly under ultraviolet light, but this is not any indication of restoration. The only possible retouches may be around the extreme edges. The work could certainly be hung in its current state.
