Condition

Overall in very good condition. The ebonized frame with minor shallow surface scratches, edge nicks, and dings that are consistent with gentle use. The openwork detailing of the frame adds great depth to the overall work when viewed in person. The frame with a few small and minor seam separations consistent with age. The fabric upholstery and cushion fill appears later and are executed in a manner consistent with the original design. The upholstery remains in excellent condition showing almost no evidence of wear. The coloration of the upholstery is accurate to the presentation in the print catalogue and includes a indigo blue accentuated with a subtle burnt orange in the decorative scheme. A wonderful offering showing the detail and sculptural presence associated with the best of the British Arts and Crafts movement.
