Condition

Overall very good original condition. The present offering shows little evidence of use. With some minor surface dirt to the recessed portion of the decorative scheme. The lower wire portion of the brush with some misaligned bristles consistent with age and use, as seen in the catalogue illustration. A wonderful object incorporating decorative elements included by Deskey in some of his most noted and significant commissions. This work presents with highly sculptural details when viewed in person and is a true encapsulation of the designer's aesthetic.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Catalogue Note

Related works displaying Deskey’s acutely modernist design motif of repeating convex forms paired with linear decoration were included in two of his most ambitious commissions:  the Mandel House and Radio City Music Hall in New York.
