Condition

Executed on a prepared pre-cradled panel which is flat, even and ensuring a stable support. Ultra-violet light reveals an even old varnish and just a handful of possible minor strokes of retouching, notably to the glove and arm of the footman to the lower-left and in the upper-left corner. This painting is in good, otherwise original condition. Presented in a decorative gilt frame with reeded ornaments, probably the original.
