Condition

Light discoloration and staining to the internal fabric. One tear approx 1 in. long where stitching is undone. One external stab missing to the left upper edge. One side from base to height of seat discolored probably through ingrained dirt. The sides are not as structured as base and could now be slightly mishapen. Felt overall patchy and lightly dirty, commensurate with age and material.

Catalogue Note

Through this design, Gaetano Pesce explores the possibilities of resin-impregnated textiles and produces a self-supporting structure. The armchair, with its back looking like a blanket and isolating felter, appears like a shelter for the sitter.
