mahogany and later upholstered in white silk damask, with stained rear legs ending in brass cappings and castors, with a label printed Knight, Frank & Rutley

In excellent condition. Re-upholstered. Brass cappings and castors with typical old marks and scratches.

This chair, described as 'An easy chair, loose-covered in off-white silk rep', was lot 60 in the sale of items of the Estate of the late Sir Winston Churchill conducted by Knight, Frank & Rutley, at 20 Hanover Square, on 19 January 1966. The chair has been re-upholstered in a damask modelled on the style of chairs remaining at Chartwell.
