  • Vellum and Paper
106 leaves and fragments: (a) cutting from a service book, with directions for oblates, 133mm. by 97mm., red rubrics in ornamental capitals, remains of 8 lines in a fine late Carolingian hand with pronounced ct-ligature, verso scuffed and mostly illegible, Italy, early twelfth century; (b) eleven complete or near-complete leaves from liturgical or Biblical books on vellum, fourteenth or fifteenth-century and predominately German, several recovered from late sixteenth- and early seventeenth-century account books, some from Rödelheim, Frankfurt am Main (one with additions  dated 1603); plus another 4 fragments of similar leaves on vellum and one on paper; (c) five leaves (including the remains of a bifolium) and 3 large cuttings from a Vitae Sanctorum in semi-humanistic script on paper, a paper liturgical volume, and legal treatises on paper and vellum, all fifteenth-century; and (d) eighty-one leaves or fragments of documents on paper and one on vellum, in Latin, French and Italian, fifteenth to sixteenth century; all recovered from bindings and hence somewhat defective
