A rare collection of portraits of the Rana aristocracy including Jang Bahadur Kunwar, his brothers Jagat Shumshere and Dhir Shumshere, many pictured with their wives; two portraits of King Surendra Bikram Shah (one from a negative of the 1860s, thought to be the earliest known photograph of a Nepali ruler); his successor the young child King Prithbi Bir Bikram Shah; together with group photographs including the Prince of Wales; Gurkha soldiers, and the Terai hunting grounds.
