Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 14 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. A few of the glass tiles with very small and minor edge flecks along the adjacent contours of the shade leading. The eyes on the dragonflies are articulated with irregularly cut, chunky garnet red glass, which is an unusual and attractive feature on this lamp (versus the standard small, circular cabochons). The patinated bronze surfaces of the base display an exceptionally rich green and russet brown patina. The patinated bronze surfaces throughout with some occasional light surface scratches and abrasions, rubbing to the patina, and with a few minor traces of surface soiling and residue consistent with age and gentle use. All of the sockets and paddle switches appear to be original and undisturbed. The period finial with rubbing and surface wear throughout and a few small areas of patina loss around the central knop consistent with age and use. Lacking cord bushing around the perimeter edge of the base cushion. When viewed in person, the shade is slightly less red than seen in the catalogue illustrations. The shade displays an exceptionally striking multi-colored palette of jewel tones, accented by the brilliant aqua blue dragonfly spines. The shade is well-proportioned with the base and presents as a harmonious unit.
